This one is a little 'out there', but I have that 'feeling'.
10 years ago I had an idea. One of those ideas that sits in the back of your mind, pops in and out until you put pen to paper and see how it unfolds.
What idea do I hear you say!?
A recipe book.....I know, I know, you're saying WOW that's a unique and inspired idea that no one has thought of before, as you stare at the plethora of books on your shelf!
Well, this is a recipe book with a difference.
The premise is based on a fantasy world of culinary beings that live and breathe all things food, produce and ultimately, sustainability!
Without giving too much away, it's a fantasy, adventure book with 'real world' recipes solely aimed at children and families.
The story is simple, a magical village and it's people are in trouble, a lone hero sent on a quest to save them, fantastical challenges, a myriad of characters good and bad and real world recipes.
I suppose the reason this all came about, was my concern about families not having a true understanding of food and where it comes from. We take so many things for granted, and food/produce is on top of that list.
Now a lot has happened over the last 10 years, for the better, but I still feel we have a long way to go.
What better way to engage and understand, than cooking together!?
Anyway, now that I have put it out there, I may actually make it happen!?
